Vitalis

Vitalis

For those of you who like watching movies and TV shows on your computer, but get frustrated by the mumbling and whispering and you often go "what the heck did he just say?"  Don't crank up the volume, subtitles are here to help you.

Vitalis is a subtitle seeker. For the moment, it only supports English subtitles but I may expand it to other languages too.

System Requirements

  • Windows XP SP3, Vista, or Windows 7.
  • .NET Framework 4.0 (can be installed by the bootstrapper Setup.exe)

Using Vitalis for the first time

Vitalis uses plugins to determine where it will retrieve its subtitles. By default, the application will use all the Source plugins installed in the /plugins/ directory, but you can choose only a specific source by going to the Settings tab.

Select the video you would like to search subtitles for by clicking the Browse button, or by dragging it to the main window of Vitalis. The application will parse the name of the file and, if it recognizes it, the Title will be automatically provided.

You can then tell Vitalis to start looking for subtitles by pressing the Search button. The data from the different Sources will be parsed and you can then select a specific subtitle to download.

Please email me suggestions and feedback, because they are very much appreciated.

Recommended video players

Of course, these subtitles won't be of any use to you if you don't have a video player that is capable of displaying them. Here are some video players that I recommend:
